ANNA HENDERSON
‘Come Inside’ is an exhibition of semi abstract paintings and ceramic sculptures. The paintings, mixed media on canvas, are dwellings built in the surrounding landscape. The sculptures are slab built clay houses, raku, saggar and sawdust fired.
“Too often when we hear the word ‘house' we only think of a physical building and its rooms. But what if we began to think of the Earth as our house - with various rooms - what would we need to do to make this 'house' a true 'home’.” Sharon Abercrombie
Anna Henderson ‘Come Inside’ is showing from 25 June until 20 July 2025
Opening Event Saturday 28 June @3pm
“I have been making art for about thirty years. I completed‚ with honors‚ in the eighties, a ceramic course and have had a passion for raku‚ saggar and sawdust fired pottery ever since. I am also a painter‚ creating abstract landscapes and abstract work on canvas and wood. I delight in experimenting with different mediums and textures. I use plaster as a base and then carve back into the surface, creating many layers, colours and very intriguing patterns. Every piece of work is a journey, lots of experimenting, and lots of personal challenges. I have won lots of awards which is always very satisfying, however, infinitely more satisfying is knowing that someone liked a work enough to buy it, and found joy in hanging it in their home. My work has sold all over Australia and overseas.”
